An enterprise-grade Job Portal designed to facilitate efficient recruitment by connecting job seekers with relevant opportunities from employers. Features include advanced job search filters, candidate profile management, resume submission, application tracking for job seekers, and a comprehensive employer dashboard for job posting, applicant management, and communication. The platform leverages AI for intelligent job matching and personalized recommendations, streamlining the hiring process for both parties and enhancing recruitment outcomes.
Business Problem
Job seekers struggled to find relevant jobs, and employers faced challenges in attracting qualified candidates and managing large volumes of applications efficiently. Existing job portals often lacked intelligent matching and comprehensive tools for both sides, leading to inefficiencies in the recruitment process.
Solution
Developed a robust job portal using Laravel, Inertia.js with Vue.js for a dynamic user experience, and Elasticsearch for advanced job search. Implemented AI-powered job matching (OpenAI API), personalized job recommendations, and a full-featured application tracking system for employers. Utilized Spatie Media Library for resume storage and PDF generation.
Architecture
Micro-service oriented architecture with Job Posting & Search, Candidate Profile & Application, Employer Management, AI Matching Engine (Elasticsearch, OpenAI API), and Communication Hub. Employs S3 for scalable storage of resumes and documents. Uses Laravel Horizon for processing job imports, application notifications, and AI matching tasks. WebSockets facilitate real-time chat between employers and candidates.
Challenges
Ensuring highly relevant job matching and recommendations using AI, managing a vast database of job postings and candidate profiles with fast search capabilities, securely storing sensitive personal data and resumes, designing intuitive interfaces for both job seekers and employers, and integrating with external HR systems and career sites.
Performance Optimizations
Implemented Elasticsearch for lightning-fast job search with complex filters and keyword matching, utilized Redis for caching popular job searches and AI recommendations, optimized database queries for candidate profile retrieval and application history, and employed Vue.js for a highly responsive job board and application form with lazy loading of content.
